Memory Joggers

About the Director

Director Lisa Jordan

My name is Lisa Jordan. I previously worked at EMMC/Northern Light for 18 ½ years. The last 9 years I worked at Cancer Care of Maine as a patient advocate and an appeals/denials specialist. My husband Terry and I have 2 grown children-Jen, her husband Jon, and Justin and his wife Arica. We have 4 beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy doing most crafts with my current craft of choice being stained glass.

My Mother, Gladys, attended My Friend’s Place and Memory Joggers in 2015 and 2016. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011; I made it my mission to understand as much as possible about this disease . I was one of her primary care partners, and and came to understand the journey of loving someone with memory loss. MFP was such a blessing for my mother and our family! Mom had a place to go that was independent from her family, where she could socialize with friends and feel some independence; a place she could laugh, socialize and participate in the day’s activities.
I am honored to be the Director of My Friend’s Place. Skippy Valentine is our program coordinator and one of the founders of MFP. We have the most dedicated and trained volunteers who make this program so successful.
