Volunteer at My Friend’s Place!

My Friend’s Place is a social activity program for people coping with memory loss, dementia, or who are socially isolated. It is our mission to provide adults a safe, supportive, and friendly environment that offers life-enriching social and recreational activities along with respite for their caregivers.

Because we feel it is important to keep a ratio of one staff or volunteer to every two participants, we are always looking for new volunteers who are caring and concerned individuals willing to make a time commitment to the program.

Volunteers will be helping participants with fun-filled activities such as sing-a-longs, physical exercise, reminiscences, crafts, conversations, and refreshments.

Since April 2001 we have provided services to over 100 Bangor area families. This would never have been possible without our volunteers! We are making a difference in people’s lives. Come join us in making this difference!

My Friend’s Place is held at First United Methodist Church in Bangor, Maine on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our early memory loss program, Memory Joggers Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
